As any IndyCar fan is aware, the season is starting very soon (March 24th). A great way to get ramped up for the upcoming season if you are in the Indianapolis area is to visit the Dallara Factory. A great day to do this will be on March 9th 2013.
Why on this day you might ask? March 9th is a great opportunity to help out some charities and also meet some IndyCar drivers. The proceeds from the day are going towards great charities which include the Graham Rahal Foundation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and SeriousFun Children’s Network. There will be an autograph session and much more going on at the factory.
Indy Cars & Coffee (http://indycarsandcoffee.com) meets every Saturday morning at McAllister’s Deli at Meridian and 96th Street in Indianapolis from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Graham Rahal is a regular attendee of the weekly event when his schedule permits and originally March 9th was going to be a tour for Indy Cars and Coffee group, but some of the individuals thought it would be a great chance to raise some money and awareness for the Graham Rahal Foundation.
Indy Cars and Coffee will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. and heading over to the Dallara factory for the charity event. Check it out for the chance to cruise to the factory with a range of cars from exotics, muscle cars, classics, and more!
Admission to the factory is only $10 and well worth it for the charities. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

The Graham Rahal Foundation (http://grahamrahalfoundation.org) is dedicated to work for a cause that was significantly important to Graham’s former race team owner and friend, the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman – helping children with medical conditions. Through various fundraising events and activities, the foundation helps both Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (http://www.alexslemonade.org/) and SeriousFun Children’s Network (http://www.seriousfunnetwork.org/).
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) shares the vision of its founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott—a cure for all children with cancer. Its mission is simple: to raise money for and awareness of childhood cancer causes—especially research into new treatments and cures—and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
Founded by Paul Newman, SeriousFun Children’s Network is a growing global community of innovative camps and programs creating opportunities for children with serious illnesses and their families to reach beyond serious illness and discover joy, confidence and a new world of possibilities, always free of charge. Known as The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps until April 2012, when the organization changed its name to underscore founder Paul Newman’s passionate belief in the power of taking fun seriously, SeriousFun Children’s Network is deeply rooted in the philosophy that all children deserve to simply be kids.
